Beechwood Avenue

Beechwood Avenue

Client: Private
Architect: PAAD

The existing building is a late-1930s two-bedroom bungalow with a side garage.

It is proposed to remodel the ground floor of the existing house, extend the rear and build a new storey. The garage is to be demolished and a new house built in its place, mimicking the elevation of the existing house and creating a semi-detached property.

The properties will be built/renovated to the Passivhaus standard. They will be made airtight and thermally efficient with a mechanical heat-recovery ventilation system and a combined PV/solar water panel to achieve both eco-refurbishment and eco-new build.
