Fire escape staircase, QC Building, Bristol

Fire escape staircase, QC Building, Bristol

Client: Eddisons
Architect: Not yet appointed

The seven-storey staircase is at the rear of QC30 building and is the secondary means of escape for the offices in case of fire. It is constructed of steel with cast-iron landings and treads.

Rise was appointed to survey the structure, record its condition and specify repairs, and is now organising tenders on behalf of the client for the works required.

While considering the sequence of the structural repairs, Rise worked closely with the contractor to ensure that an alternative escape route would be available and that the existing landings would be safe at all times
