How we work

  • We meet with the client and the architect to agree our brief.
  • Where appropriate, we make structural investigations and provide written appraisals of existing buildings.
  • We can also plan and interpret the results of geological investigations.
  • Initially, we produce conceptual studies which include structural options for the client and design team to discuss.
  • When we have an agreed option, we develop much more detailed designs for tender supported by calculations.
  • Should you require a party-wall agreement, we provide all the structural information necessary for your application.
  • When a contractor has been appointed, a full construction package, including NBS specifications, is provided.
  • We produce a design statement and discuss with the contractor the methods of construction and temporary supports.
  • Then we monitor the construction process on site in order to ensure adherence to the highest standards.
  • We provide detailed comments and advice on the offerings of specialist suppliers.
  • We liaise with building control to ensure the designs are approved.
  • All our works are covered by our Professional Indemnity Insurance.
